In 2008 Elektro won the accolade of best Power Distribution Company in Operational Management.

In 2007 Elektro won the accolade of best Power Distribution Company in Brazil and was also considered the best in Customer Satisfaction, Operational Management and Social Responsibility.

Amongst power distributors with more than 400 thousand customers, Elektro was acknowledged as the company with the Best Operational and Economic-Financial Management in the country.  The company’s efficiency in capital utilization, technical indicators, safety achievements in 2005 and other criteria guaranteed the award. The award is promoted by ABRADEE – Brazilian Association for Electric Power Distributors (Associação Brasileira de Distribuidores de Energia Elétrica) and brings together 64 State-owned and private electric power distribution concessionaires throughout the country responsible for 99% of the domestic electric power market.

For the second consecutive year, Elektro was included in the GUIA EXAME-VOCÊ S/A magazine, which lists the best 150 companies to work for in Brazil, according to research methodology developed by FIA/USP – Administration Institute Foundation of the University of Sâo Paulo (Fundação Instituto de Administração da Universidade de São Paulo).  The company also took part in the Época magazine rankings, which, in 2006, launched research for the Best Companies to Work For in Brazil, using the Great-Place-to-Work Institute methodology.

For the second time running, Elektro was considered one of the ten model companies in social responsibility in the country, according to the Guia Exame da Boa Cidadania Corporativa magazine.  This prize was awarded to the company due to practices adopted regarding relationships held with various groups, taking into consideration values and transparency, respect for employees, relationship with suppliers, control of environmental impacts and the company’s role in the community, with customers, the Government, and society.

• The Eloy Chaves Gold Medal

Elektro was awarded the Eloy Chaves Gold Medal, the most important electric-power sector award for safety, conferred by the ABCE – Brazilian Association for Electric Power Concessionaires (Associação Brasileira das Concessionárias de Energia Elétrica), for work carried out in 2005 on occupational accident prevention.  Elektro also received this award in 2005 (for its safety performance in 2004) and in 2002 (for its safety performance in 2001).

• The Modern Consumer - Excellence in Customer Service Award (Prêmio Consumidor Moderno de Excelência em Serviços ao Cliente) April 2006

For the third time, Elektro won the Modern Consumer, Excellence in Customer Service Award, in the electric power category.  This award is conferred by Modern Consumer (Consumidor Moderno) magazine to companies in various sectors.  This achievement is the result of actions imple mented to improve customer service, special improvement programs for call center operators, and changes in e-mail service to streamline customer/company contact.
